A Mike Leigh Film Festival
[ OBJECTIVE ]
To create a hypothetical film festival that highlights the filmmaker Mike Leigh and his films. Extract a theme that ties together all of the director’s selected movies and creates several deliverables in an integrated visual system.
[ CONCEPTS ]
Mike Leigh’s films feature the relationship in working-class families and how they grapple with bleak moments in their lives. To connect the common thread in each selected film, I chose windows as my principle visual to help audiences look objectively at ordinary families’ lives. I also use handwriting and lines to highlight intriguing dialogues.
